Bluegiga BLE112 module
I started my investigation into bluetooth low energy (BLE) development kits and came across quite a few different choices. The different options can be broken down into two categories: Chip-on-Board and turnkey module.
I’m a software engineer based in Sydney, Australia, with absolutely no hardware experience, but I’ve always had an interest in embedded circuits and software. I started playing around with an Arduino, which has been a good starting point since the community is knowledgeable and very active. My focus at the moment is wireless technology, and in specific, Bluetooth. I feel as though it’s an exciting time for wireless technology, since Bluetooth Low Energy chips have recently been making their way into consumer devices, such as mobile phones, heart monitors and watches. The market is ripe for innovation and new ideas based on this low power, long battery life technology.
